Sweetheart:

My! how busy. Tracting the first day, riding on trains, attending meetings, talking to some of the saints and being in general, very well received. It is now ten thirty and Elder Howell and myself with an Elder Stuart are at a saints home where we are staying for the night.

Sunday we attended priesthood meeting Sunday School (at Denver) then went out to Englewood, ate dinner with saints met some of the lady missionaries and a number of Elders. Then conjoint meeting in the Evening. Monday we tracted all day, had meeting in the evening and then Tuesday Morning 10 of the Elders met president J. J. Daynes and had instructions and were assigned to our different districts and branches. There are 8 Districts as follows.
Denver, Pueblo, New Mexico, Wyoming, East Nebraska, Western Nebraska, Black Hills and one other I can't remember. (Grand Junction) I was hoping that I would go to Albuquerque New Mexico, or Nebraska. Any place but near Denver. Well, I was appointed to labor in Colorado Springs in the Pueblo District. However, I am with a good Elder (Elder Howell) Both of us new in this mission. Elder Howell is a convert who has done mission work before. We are the only ones who are not going out with […] Elders. There are two sisters who will be moved under our direction because the Elders who are not working with them are sort of young and not, well, just the best of missionaries. Elder Howell is 32 years of age and has 3 children. President Daynes intimated that he would like two of the more experienced Elders to take charge and to specifically do a work in Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs is a Summer pleasure resort and some of the best and richest people of Colorado live there. President Daynes sent the fellows from ranches and Farm to those sort of districts. Well, I feel complimented, as does, Elder Howell to work in this district. Our specific duty is to open up a new branch. Well, sweet. I can't go talking missionary work all the time although I believe I could.

I'm thrilled, Dorothy, and I'm going to work and soon be home to the sweetest girl in the whole world. Gee! I was tickled pink over the letter. I would like to show it to all teh Elders I was so glad. It was a work of Art (and love I hope also.) I've not been homesick as yet but I miss you and will miss you every time I see the moon, hear beautiful music, see something artistic or beautiful. I wish you were here so that I could talk to you .... and.... well, ..... ??

Darling, I love you so much, I will keep in my mind the look I saw of you in Salt Lake. I suppose I'll have to keep that picture for a few months and then I'll see "little nutlet" and give her the sweetest kiss.

Please write another letter soon because it is my best contact with things from Salt Lake and the things I love.

I am sort of sandwiching this letter in between times and it is short, but will send you a longer one soon - when I get settled. Will go to Colorado Springs tomorrow.

I love you darling.

Love

Ellsworth
