A yellow moon, shining clear.
Moonlight splashed on virgin snow
Shadows cloistered hanging near
Rushing tumbling by my window.

Whistle screaming, coach a-swaying,
Engine throbbing charging forward;
Stell [steel] on reail, clanging, ringing;
Singing me to sleep -a-dreaming.

Bubbling voices of companions
Help to keep me from my slumber,
Help to make the din ^more complex
On my trip from home to Denver.

Written while on the train coming out to my mission field.
