Dearest Mother, -

Though your children are widely separated in miles, we join in our hearts to give thanks  and do on honor to the finest mother a person could own.

It's beyond words to tell you how we feel and altho our actions have at times belied our thoughts - you know, I believe that without you we would never be where we are today.

I don't know of a more ideally-mated couple than my parents  and I always pray that I can be big enough to play my part in helping to rear a fine family like yours.

I believe my children are blessed in the father I have chosen for them. He understands me and my desires and ambitions. Together we hope to master our weaknesses and live the typical Latter Day Saint life. Ellsworth is a great help to me in many ways and he comes from noble stock of which we may will be proud. When you are in Utah again I hope you and his folks will have more opportunities to get acquainted. I would like to have known his grandparents as I would also liked to have known mine.

Because his father was held so closely to his store when Ellsworth was in his teens, he missed some of the friendships of that age from father's + son's outings etc., and often expresses his appreciation of the friendly talks Papa shared with him the summer he worked in our garden with him.

I am glad I was in your home under your guiding hand as long as I was and what you have borne for my sake I am humbly grateful.

Sept - 44 Tho I entered in the amateur division Eastern Ida state Fair Blackfoot if was fun to see. Two blue ribbons and one red on my work. The delphiniums Don and Naomi had got a "first" and some roses "second". A small oil of the Teton a "first". The artists I met there said the work was of professional type in finish so now that I'm beginning to sell a few of course I'd enter that class next time. I wouldn't show up very well with the professionals as several experienced out-of state artists for off with prizes there. A group of artists in this section headed by a woman in Ida Falls

It is interesting to hear what the others are doing in Provo and Argentina.
Last month they all sent beautiful birthday letters and thanks t o you and Papa and Vigil for your lovely sentiment.
You made me feel very important in your lines and wonder what I would get out of life without a mother who believed in my, prated and planned for me. It means everything.

1 Could this be returned? Thanks!

Even tho I'm the mother of three precious spirit of my own their grandmother means more in their lives yet than I do.
Little Renee is a darling and looks like you and me if you can imagine the combination. We were so thrilled to have Oliver visit over-night on the 28th of Apr. Their program was excellent and we met several fellow of the glee club including Geo. Whitaker, a fine boy, whom Lois has been out with lately.
June likes her navy blue dress and from the sleeve bottoms I made a purse to match for her birthday so she has a smart outfit now.

Patter of Purse. Red Zipper. White silk military braid like cuff of dress.
Pattern of Dress

She wears dress with neck buttoned high or with red or white ascot tie and red hanky. We thought of a red boleros from that red silk of Clarks if it wouldn't take too much. I won't use the red blue silk that matches it right now however. If June stays here long I think we'd better fix that pink and grey striped cotton

Skirt

of min she has wasn't here and if you could send skirt, it makes a smart new outfit she like it.
Hope we can get some baby snaps next Sun. It was dark cold and windy last Sun. and is hailing and snowing today. Last wee was hot at times. We had a fine trip to Paris, Georgetown and Geneva the 22nd to 24th . Saw Grandma Shepherd in Pocatello with Ells. Aunt, also [Donna].
Our garden is already coming up.
I've just written Don and the others. Marv is gaining on Lois's cooking and Oliver looks much better than expected, considering his many activities. I'm getting double thin myself and seem to be heavier this Spring but only 128 lbs. June is fine looking and whn she fills out more will take the beauty prize along with Virgil for the boys.
We hope you're all feeling fine this beautiful Sprin and that life this year will bring you more joys than ever before.
