My dear parents -

I am wishing we could all sneak in on you and have a surprise party in your wedding anniversary this Fri. I believe it is your 30th altho I don't keep good track when I'm trying to feel as young as possible myself.

In that many years your family seems to have become quite large now that most of the children are grown up - only one under sixteen. We hope we will not fall too short of the expectations you had when we were little tots. I feel there is a long way ahead of me to satisfaction in my way of interpreting life.

With my own babies I can realize now what dreams we hold for them and how our belief in them would be so hard to shatter.

I will be so happy when we

can be together again and talk about these things.

It was a thrill to have Lois and Marvin here for a day (Sat 2 PM 'til Sun 2 PM) We felt very fortunate in having them come for June. She would have left the Monday before had she been well enough.
There was a good chance to go to Logan but she was still recovering from three days of sore throat and fever which had come on suddenly the Fri. before. Fever was 102 first day. Not until Thurs. (June 2nd) was she around much and getting her color back. It was the first time she's been down all winter and we wanted her to feel fit before going to S.L.
Lois curled June's hair up and I gave them a lesson in driving. They both drove the Terry around town. Marvin looks much better with his added weight. He and Gordon wen to S.S. while the rest

of us packed and visited.

We sent all June's clothes with her but those she'd outgrown. Some cottons I'll give to neighbors who help me. Others I may makeover or give to (Knaphus) girls or (Greauls.)

The yellow organdy you made is a striking ensemble. I would have tried painting it for her but didn't have time to do justice to is as the boys bot got sick sat.eve. and have kept me on the trot for 3 days. Cholera - (infamtum)  (I think) an intestinal flue and they had to live on boiled water Sun and part of Mon. So are just regaining the strength now. A day or two before I think they got some raw (Wheatina )from a pkg. and ate it. Don't know if there is a connection but Bobby ran a fever of 102 then was better and later both started regurgitating all they ate or drank.

Little Renee is very considerate and is so quiet I only notice her at feeding and bath time.

Today we all walked to the corner to see the neighborhood, children playing in the large ditch there.

Most of our tomatoes sprouted out of the frost and we have some new ones also some celery, egg plant, beans to sell and pumpkin, squash, melons, corn, etc. Only have radishes and lettuce now. Lilacs are blooming everywhere. The boys have a swing on the apple tree on the front lawn. They visit our neighbors animals and learning from real life about the pictures in their books. Robert says many things plainly now.

We will show more of Renee June in her next pictures. A cold wind was blowing in this, even tho it was bright and warm. Days are hot and dry now with occasional dust or sand storms followed by short showers.

We are anxious to know what plans will be for next fall but life wouldn't be so interested if our paths were foretold.

Virgil is welcome to stay with us during winter if he gets fixed up in S.L. beforehand as he needs. Now June has left I can appreciate how you feel without them all and especially her. She buzzes around and always on the spot when I need her. Renee will surely be glad to work for her some day.

If Ells could arrange to work for tuition or even help teach in Provo year after this we could plan on moving and maybe live in one place with you.

Raise a garden here before going or move early and plant there. We have furniture which you'll need & you have baby tenders, etc. we'll need it would pay to go together if we could find a big house.

Well Lois decided to use black ribbon on lace on skirt & then washing wouldn't spoil it either. We both liked flowers best. I made some blue flowers for Lois & red for June. She has red bolero & ascot tie. Lois' yello flowered print is cute & fits me almost as well as her. She's heavier in arms & legs & hips but weights a little less.

I'm filling a genealogical blank for ward society but don't have names of my great (Bushmans) grandparents. Could you tell me next time you write if you have them in your mind also mama's parents full names. John & Lois?

Goodnight for now. I'm ashamed of this scribbly littl writing especially for an anniversary letter but I left it so late that I had to hurry before sleep overtook me.

May you have a happy day of reminiscing & planning for a glorious future.

We pray for every good blessing of peace health and wisdom to attend you always. You are the finest grandparents & parents in the world.

Devotedly,

Dorothy
