Dearest -
Just a note at this late hour to tell you I have not forgotten you and that I'm still alive and happy. The stars seem so low and bright tonight that I year for your company. This is truly a beautiful country and the only thing to make it more perfect would be ___ (you know who).
I received your letter the day I sent one off to you so I guess you wondered where the letter had been. It went form Denver to Pueblo, from Pueblo to 1217 No. Hancock & then to my present address. Four changes you see. Then two days later I received the next letter. Boy! Did I feel good? It seemed so good to hear form you again. I received the ten dollars alright and I think that it will be sufficient & perhaps I could get along on $9.00 every two weeks if nothing extra comes along. It doesn't matter when you send it I think that if you send it a Wed. then I'd get it by Friday & that would be o.k. Suit yourself. Which is the easier? We had some snaps finished yesterday and I will send you two or three. The ones marked X on the back I'd like back & the others you can keep.
I'm going to write Marvin tomorrow and answer the letter he wrote to me while I was still in Salt Lake. Tomorrow is wash day & I think I'll wash most of my clothes myself thus saving 60 or 70 cents. We can borrow an iron to iron them too. We did this last week.
Last night we were invited out to some of the saints, Mr. & Mrs Wrights. They both are deaf and dumb. Their children seem to be perfectly normal however, and the smallest one is especially gifted and while more a cute little girl of about 12 or 13 years of age. She told me that she wished I'd stay out in the mission field until 1936 because then she would be 16 & old enough to have a fellow. Her older […] married a girl 16 so she thinks that's fine. She had me write in her autograph book & then present me with one of her pencil drawings. It was pretty good too.
The people are very hospitable and seem to feel hurt if you don't call on them every few days. With the investigators we have to visit it's hard to see much of the saints.
Elder Davis goes home tomorrow & we are having a sort of farewell for him tomorrow evening. He lives on 376 West 4th North S.L.C. I told him to call in Kress' & see your work. He says he will. Didn't tell him to see you because he has a nice little mustache & seems to like the girls. At least, two Catholic girls at Pueblo are sorry they are leaving.
It is so warm that I haven't worn an overcoat only about 3 or 4 times since arriving. They say that they have their winter here, about Mar & April & May. Sometimes it's really hot outside and it feels good to get in the shade.
Just send my trunks, a jersey if any, & bike strap if you know what I mean. Will try to get shoes out here.
The B.B. team is figuring on joining in the Y.M.C.A. tournament or church league. It will cost the boys five dollars so it's not sure, but I think it would be swell to have the L.D.S. advertised in this way. Especially with 60 other competing churches in the city.
Will close for tonight sweetheart. Lots of love & kisses OXOX to sleep on
Yours,
Ellsworth

Sweet,
Will enclose a few snaps & also memberhsip card too - Well its' sort of a joke. Elder Howell gave them to me so I'll tell you about these when I see you.
Also you will find enclosed a few sheets on large families. Not that I back down on my original premise that birth control and eugenics are a good thing but that either eugenics or the large family may be abused. Keep and we will talk more about it later.
Here are some of the other ones I thought we could send Xmas cards to together.
Mr. & Mrs. V. Ferre, Mr. & Mrs. Ear Tippetts, Geo. Ida.
Mr. & Mrs. "Red" Jenson Afton Wyo. c/o Gilette Colo.
Mr. & Mrs. George Parker 1915 S. 13th E. S.L.C.
Mildred Munk, Lewis Munk, [red underlined] Le[…] Bacon
Evelyn […] 1915 So. 13th E. S.L.C.
Lowell Shepherd, [red underlined] not this
& any others such a Gertrude & Vera, just according to the way you want to.
There are very few so I'll send cards to that won't be from both of us so any one you can think of will be fine. Wish I could be of more help. Ones with red line under I might just get a cheap card and Kresses & the job will be lighter for you.
I am not going to try to give any Xmas presents this year. Not even in the family. I hope write each a letter, however, and it will be much cheaper and I can wish them just as much joy. Don't you think so. Perhaps I'll try to get something in a small way for Gordon or my Mother. Write & tell me what you think.
I just got through washing my clothes & it was a regular family wash. It is on the line now & consists of 4 shirts & 1 towel (she furnishes them & washes when this is my own) 2 sets of underwear 3 handkerchiefs & for pr of sox. Will iron these later.
Will have to up town soon & get Groceries as we are going to have President J.J. Daynes & Co. from Denver, here for Sunday Evening Dinner. We will have a roast & vegetables & pie. How's that.
I'd better quit now & get busy.
OXOX All my love to you Dorothy.
Ellsworth
I dreamed about you last night. It was a good one too.
Remember me to Lois, Oliver, June, Don & Virgil also to your Mother & Father. I think of them every so often.
