Dear Mother--
Your letter was certainly exuberant with good news and we're so happy you've found such rest & enjoyment there.
I will fix a picture in folder for Grandma & can send it for Christmas from here from all of us can't I? Will you be sending anything else? Is she in Mesa? What address? I'd like them.
We've had out first good snowfall but its so warm today it's half melted again. Wish it would snow now till Xmas. It looks so good.
I got ready to paint Xmas cards but I'm still wondering how to do yours.
Do you want to use the family snap on any of them or send them out later to friends. I have about 20 white folders I could fix one of two ways --

Snap at top scene & greeting at bottom or else just a scene at top & greeting at bottom. You could write inside or I can print a verse. Thot you'd like to (write on candy) to close friends.
What about it? Are there any typical trees etc, there that I could use in scene? Any evergreens.
Hilly country or should I make snowdrifts & house etc. Thot I'd like to make it something like your place if Don or Lois will make a rough sketch for me.
Also can you send me a list of all the names & mark those you want to send the best (white folders) to. I'll make all I have cards for & send them to you early if you give me this information as soon as possible.

Maybe Lois can fix some for herself & June. Do you shop at Palmyra or Manchester?
While I'm on the subject of Christmas I have some other questions I'd like answered right away.
We want to get some small gift for all the kids as it will surprise them & they will be saving up for Oliver & won't have much to spend.
We feel like we can, so I'm writing a list for each & wish you would check off the things they have already so we'll have an idea what to send without duplication or waste.
Don

If they absolutely don't need some of these things write me a list of what would be best & most useful to send as I would like to get them off early.
Thot I would send Oliver just a 100 or so as he'll get other money at Xmas, I send more to him next spring or when Marv quit work & you are low.
Marv & Ells & I will try to get together in S.L.C. for Christmas. Do you have any idea where we could all stay together? Ells & I may stay at Hazel's & I guess Marv could go to Ellens, or Jensens but don't know if he will […]. Again we may find a cheap place & batch together a week.

Glad Oliver got to visit you & bring his friends there.
How did the party on Halloween turn out? We went to a nice party here at the cheesemaker's home. A young married couple, distant relations to Ellsworth.
We have had two free election rally dances here lately. Tomorrow is voting day & no school so we will probably get out & hike & take pictures.
Tonight we go to union meeting in Montpelier & stay to a show.
Yes I hope Marv will be able to go East when he finishes in Utah. And if we (Ells & I) could work enough to pay to come we could probably leave whenever things are ripe there for us as long as school is out & work during summer or all year if wages were worth it. There'd be no rent & we could probably save more & after schooling in the East, get a better job.
As to Georgetown in May & I will need to be there about the middle or before & school ends May 17th.
People in Montpelier & Georgetown have Dr's come to home as there is no other place. That would be 10 or 12 miles for Dr. to come. Clark is quite capable herself in emergency.
Am going to get her to help me shop while I'm there in Dee, as I don't know all the things necessary to have. And by the way maybe you can jot down names for me in your (spare ?) time.
Will have my picture taken care of. Wish you had taken it. If we go will take it East as it would be more useful & stationery there & I don't care for it now particularly as we won't have a large enough home for some time.

Marv wrote a nice long letter & told of your fine farewell at H. Park. Sorry we had to miss it.
Lois will be 14 on Nov 24 I guess. Heard from Vera P. Murphy that she is busy & happy. She thinks I'm not getting married till this month & addressed me Dorothy Smith at S.L.
I wanted to get that off especially so I could get word about cards & gifts for kids so will be waiting for your answer.
Hope all will continue well with you & that we will all remain united wherever we are.
There letters are for Dad too but I generally address you as most questions are for your specific consideration.
Much love & good wishes
Dorothy and Ellsworth
