Examples of The Gift of Healing

As told by my Mother:

When I was a girl of twelve years I was given a blessing by a Patriarch in which he said I had the gift of healing and especially I would be able to heal myself and my children.

I thought that a strange gift for a women as I grew older but when I was the mother of two children, Marvin took seriously ill with hives. I was along so could not go for help as he was taken so suddenly he could hardly get his breath and was as stiff as wood.

All of a sudden when I was beside myself with grief because my husband was not there to administer to him I remembered what the Patriarch had told me of my gift. I placed my hands upon his head and asked for a blessing. the Lord acknowledged my petition and he was healed.

As told by my Father:

When my brother, Don Carlos was thirteen years of age he had a severe attach of diphtheria. He and I were quarantined with Aunt Ellen J. Smith as our nurse, in one room of the old log house.

Don was very sick from the first day and grew rapidly worse in spite of all efforts to relieve him. Late one evening Don was so bad off that it was not expected that he would live until morning. 

Mother asked Elders Smith D. Rogers and William D. Rencher to administer to him. Almost immediately Don became better. The next morning he was greatly improved and in a few days was restored to normal health.

This was a testimony to all our family that the "prayer of faith" administration of the Elders had been answered with a remarkable blessing from our Heavenly Father.
