My dear Dorothy + Lois,

Your good letters came yesterday and were filled with the Holiday spirit. There is no reason why each year should not be better than the last and we hope that each year you will be able to say as you did this year. Isn't it wonderful to have your own home and be able to work out your own plans. I suppose I should have let you open the gifts—early enough to shift them around to suit your needs. I thot [thought] the skirt might give you a chance to wear your waists to Relief Society and up town without dressing up. I hope you were not all worn out by […]. We take it very slow + easy here now and so we never feel […]. I guess we have learned to not attempt more than we can do.

You will be glad to know that we got our new 1936 last eve so we feel the New Year will be a happy one. We have had dinner + are just going out for our first drive together in the new Bus

The music is lively enough to make us get up and dance

Last eve we had the Cooleys over + had a pleasant eve singing + playing Rook until 1 A.M.

We heard New Years Program from Bon Bay India Yesterday noon + from some their friends every home after last Chicago at 1 AM. wanted to hear S. Llake but no one one would sit up with me so we went to bed and […] before the New Year reached you

Isnt this an interesting world? we have just been listening to a representative from 50 natives shaking from the Community House on Riverside Drive New York. Just you a girl on a float in the parade in Pasadena spoke to us She is from Astralia [Australia] the only […] float represented
