Dear Dot:
"Did you ever see a dream walking? Well, I did" [sketch of musical notes] etc. I saw that a number of times while a good member of the Capital Hill Ward. Remember the times when we went walking after church. Also, how I could walk home with you from Sunday School & make a date for the evening. I can't do that now but I can see you walking in dreams. I see you often as I remember you the times we got up early and went up some canyon. Remember the morning we walk up towards Parleys Canyon, and I kissed you right out on the prairie (I mean your mouth). Excuse me I don't know my anatomy. What I meant to say was: we were standing out on the prarie [sic] in plain view of everybody for miles around, and I kissed, you. You see it was so early the people around were not up yet. Anyway, I don't get sunburned on only one side of the face anymore.
Well, news from Denver: An Elder Teerlink. Nephi A. Teerlink [KWC1-9JG] from the Whittier Ward is going to labor in Colorado Springs. However, I do not know as yet who will stay here, Elder Howell or Myself. The missionary group Western States, Southern, East Central, Central, etc will all be passing through here tomorrow evening. We missionaries are going down and have a good visit the five minutes they stay here. We are to pull Elder Teerlink off and keep him here until Conference Sunday. I was in hopes Elder Burbidge would be selected, but not so. There are four new ones for the Western States. We have fixed some official looking telegrams to give to Elders Teerlink & Burbidge with a Wanted sign $50.00 reward for Heart breaking. Boy, are we going to have some fun.
A Big Basketball Game tonight between the Pueblo "M" men and the Colo. Springs "M" Men. We beat them 45 to 44 the last Game. They really have more on the squad and are more experienced, but ours have youth on their side. Most of them are from 14-18. Boy, but the are pretty good at that.
The Elders from Pueblo are coming up tonight for the game and will stay with us, help us tract Friday and then be with us for Conference Sunday. They are both fine fellows. Elder Norris is the D.P. and Elder Stuart, his companion, came out the same time I did.
Elder Howell got back from Denver last night—with no information. Boy, I'm glad President Daynes [KWCN-LGL] kept it to himself. He has been acting like a white man since, and I can't hold a grudge for very long anyway. I guess I'm to tender hearted (Baa! Baa!) If I hadn't been that way I suppose I'd still be sore at you for one or two episodes, such as the Memorial Grove one, or the New Years & Xmas [?] with Hansen in the offing. So, I guess it pays to forget once in a while. You've surely had to forget a lot of things I've said & done. Eh! What?
Sometime in the near future I'll try and answer the letter Vera sent me. I've quite a while to wait, however. If I wait as long as she did in answering mine. Tell her not to get her shirt off, that the "Big Shot" from Montana will appreciate her a lot more if he has to wait awhile. Not too long however.
Received a letter from Mrs. Yergensen of the Yergensen Teachers Agency yesterday telling me she would give me every consideration.
And that if Id fill out a new registration bland she would register me free of charge, inasmuch as I was a missionary.
I am enclosing a letter I sent to Georgetown today. It will be self explanatory. Hope to get that information soon. I'm following every clue on a teaching job. If you hear of any, let me know.
(later)
Boy!! did we just have a crowd in & [?] Elders Stuart & Norris & 5 Pueblo Basketball players just dropped in and the're [sic] out to win. I am now watching for our Basket ball coach a Mr. Block so if I soon stop in the middle of a word you'll know the reason why.
They all admired your picture & asked if it was my Sweet & I said no my sister, & now they all want to meet my sister. Sorry for telling a lie. Just a wee white one though.
10:55 P.M.
Friday 23
Well, now to report the happenings of the last 24 hours. The new Elders have passed through and we left our cards & other remembrances Elder Teerlink is now with us and certainly is our humble young kid. He is about 20 years old & I'm afraid very inexperienced. He is about 5'6" tall & weighs about 120 lbs.
We were beat by Pueblo B.B. team 45 to 14. Boy, what a drubbing. Were we squelched? Oh boy!
Spent most of the day visiting Saints and investigators, trying to get them out for Conference Sunday.
Gosh, these kids are noisy. I can't write with all their horseplay, so I'll quit for awhile. Good bye sweet.

Well, things are going entirely too fast for me so good bye and a kinds of love to the sweetest girl a fellow ever had. I'll write as soon as possible & tell you all the news.
All your own, dearest
from Ellsworth.
