party. I had pal a "pal" before this term, Earl Tippetts, who had moved to Salt Lake, Lewis Munk, Farrell Collett, Francis Bacon, Wendell Barkdull and George Barstachi.

During Grade School my favorite sport was "marbles" althoguh I liked to play ball and run foot races.

During the School year and part of the summer I helped papa in the store. While in the eighth grade and first year high school I always opened the store at 8 o'clock, swept out and had a fire going so that by 8:45 I could be there and I could always go to school. I usually helped all day Saturday. The candy profits were slim as I usually tried to make a "hit" with Evelyn by giving her licqs licorice cigarettes and other candy dainties. (She did like licorice)

During the summer I graduated from the eighth grade I worked for Walter and Melvin ^grandpa and in August (?) of that year was nearly killed by "Old Nellie" an old mare work horse.
