My Dearest Dot

Here we go from day to day and don't get half our letters answered. in fact we just write a line or two & send it off without looking up the letters to see if they are ever answered.

We do enjoy your good letters and it is refreshing to hear of the young men that are boarding at your house. We would like to drop in on the group when you are all awake and ready for a […]

The pictures help us to know just how Robert Smith looks and I am sure he will do honor to the name. It will be nice for Grand Pa Clark if you have a house full of boys so his name can be passed along to future generations. Just think from Ellsworth he already has the heads of 3 families (in the […]) bearing his name.

Well we are rejoicing tonight over Oliver's return. He came home Mon. eve and it does seem good to have him home. Marvin is enjoying him like a new toy. They go around together like two kids laughing & chattering.

We don't know just how long he will be home as they haven't made any definite plans yet. What he needs just now is rest & out door exercise.

We will keep you posted on their doings. They may go to Washington. I sent your gift to Don with 5.00 that Myrtle sent for his Xmas.

Grandma has been staying with Myrtle a couple of weeks. She has been with Foss. They have a girl baby now.

We saw by the news that Winnie is married and going to Arizona we should have sent the table cover before as it is ready. We got the announcement after the wedding. I wil try to get his present fixed up today & post it to Lois in S.L.C.

We are having spring rains yet it is beautiful today makes one feel like getting out & walking. We had one good snow of 6 inches but it melted in 2 days.

Don has arrived safely and enjoying everything.

We heard the Pres of Argentina speak on Radio last Sat eve. As also the Pres. of all the American countries [Franklin D. Roosevelt]. We are enjoying the Radio a lot as we hear the news 4 times a day & it keeps one in touch with the world

outside. Oliver had a wonderful letter from Pres Colton complementing him on the 2 years in the field. Wish you could write a Xmas letter to Don and send card. The postage is same as U.S. It takes 4 weeks form where you are so should leave in a week or two. Letters are worth more than anything & they won't let us send anything but letters & books or papers over there so guess we won't be sending presents.

Don't worry about your coat. You will enjoy one next year & I would not trust to another to choose one. Lois can wear my fur and she don't need any dress. Her Black is lovely & there are really no occasions to wear it so don't send yours.

Wish we had a few hundred to spend on Xmas gifts - but we have not so make up your minds to be satisfied with a tin whistle a piece & we will do likewise. Do you know we have no babies

more so we have decided to have you send the Clark family of Victor, but Air Plane for us to entertain during vacation. We would let you all ride down the Hill in the big Red sleigh Don made and we would hang pop corn balls on the tree for each of you and then you could eat Turkey & pumpkin pie with us if we have any.

We are happy anyway to know you will have a real Xmas with your gay little dumplings chattering about.

I have done $50.00 of treatments & still have 2 patients & Dad has one. The Neffs take $10 of cream & milk per mo. After we get everything paid up at Bank we will have smooth sailing. We are paying the Dentist with a Hog.

Later we will sell our straw & wheat and 23 pigs so we will be able to […] & walk.

We are well & happy & do not worry about anything. Hope you will keep your girl all winter to spend your time painting it will mean more to you in the long run.
