Genealogy & temple work activities of Dorothy S. Clark

I was always often away of my parents [interest] in gen res [genealogy research] of TW K& their families cont[…] involved in these charts

In the C.H ward when I met my future husb Ells he was with a group of Elders with other El who hadn't het had dance for a mission were encouraged to start my temple attendance.

A year or so later when he left for a short term mission I decided to do get a rec to help me pass the time more usefully during his absence. My young cousin Winnie S. was already […]

June '53 He had grad from U of U with B.S. degree but was unable to find a teaching job so we could be married.

It was a early fall gathering of Bushman kin in our home that sparked a new idea that excited me It was because a close cousin, Vera Murphy had been reporting on her mission & playing o'[…] told me much more.

My enthusiasm for miss labor couldn't be wasted but since I had steady empl & was helping my family I asked Ells if he would be willing to serve. Of course I had always planned of many a rel'd […] anway he serv for 6 mos

His parents were pleased at the time unable to help […] lost them […] in G. Ida. because of the depression nationwide.

When we ret'd to SL following 11 yrs of residence in Ida. where Ells fo[…] there none opp. to help Aunt Adele Westover in her record efforts. Father &I searched many S&Will etc.

About 1933 I was thrilled with a call to serve on a woard genealogy committee & later […] as B of R chairman

Immediately occurred to me there was good reason that so may members lacked interest in this imp. labor because it wasn't talked about enough or kept in their mind

More publicity might help the dozens of slogans flooded my mind, these were originally for my mother (I was sure) who had died just 3 yrs earlier) these were transferred to colorful posters […] collected in each of the wards monthly and used in monthly ward papers.

A Stake B of R. contest […] encourage […] prepare […] if for their records. It was a pleasure to be working with […] Fred B.

We were given pe[…] to present this during […] in Cult. Hall with […] each service by each ward so a good attendance was observed. preceding the program

Archibald Bennett Gen Sec. of Gen. Soc. & former CAn. resident & friend of my parents […] & advised me in these efforts. I remember had attended his classes in Research with my mother at church office building when we first came to SLC.

Another friend whose talents contributed to our efforts was Marie M. Anderson whom I had ment in Shelley during visits w my sister June Harker. H[…] beautiful […]
