Also met Sidney Ryggs friends and attended a roller skating hall with them.  Found it not so easy.  At different times I went in a crowd with James Steckler then Melvin, 22. The first time (the crowd" they failed to please me because they thot I would enjoy a ? time and I didn't.  After going with Melvin, the more practical, was asked to write.

     After one week we continued to Los Angeles, I drove one day. Was gaining strength altho I was still underweight and pale.  Weighed 106 lbs. Passed thru beautiful valley country thru Calif, reached Hollywood after 25 mi. of twisted hilly roads.  Entering Hollywood about 3:30 PM we were struck on front wheel by another car receiving $27. damage.
